Words of the Day

"I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear."

Article about the Importance of Social Media

Social Media Training by; Jenn May

This day in age Social Media has become a base to building business and gaining exposure. What is SO COOL is it is ABSOLUTELY FREE. You cannot beat a free way of marketing. And truthfully social media is the BEST way to market bar none. You have the opportunity and possibility of reaching thousands in a short amount of time verses any other marketing option out there (Unless you are paying thousands upon thousands for internet, television and radio marketing).

Recruiting as many as I did in such a short amount of time was due to one social media site mainly. I had spent a year building myself with in that social media site and truly made myself known and “popular” before I actually promoted my opportunity. I built relationships through this social media site, I grew many friendships, started my own group which I put the work into to build members and was truly in a place where people went to me as a “Go To” person. This allowed me to bring in many friends, followers and connections which in return gave me the opportunity to recruit 61 people in only 60 days. It honestly was an AMAZING year because of the opportunities I allowed to come into place. (This is why Branding YOU and not your opportunity is a crucial part of your success.)

With that said there are 5 tasks you MUST DO when working a Social Media website:

1. Ensure your profile has information about YOU and looks professional. Stand out from the crowd. You must have a picture of you… A face shot that is professional is best. This allows you to put a face with a name, allow a connection to you and gives you a chance to build a relationship with that person. People are much more likely to add you if you have picture then if you do not. Include all the information required within the set up and make sure to add in your website links or connections on all of your profiles online.

2. You must add friends on a daily basis. Your friend list and connections are what will bring you success through any social media site. Again, going back to building relationships… this is a MUST! You will need to gain exposure through connections and friends. A “Social Buzz” if you will. Most social media websites allow you a certain amount each day. (DO NOT exceed or hit this amount each day, it is frowned upon and you could potentially lose your account on that site) You will build more relationships by adding someone with a friendly hello, a little about you and what you all have in common. In addition commenting, sending a message or making a connection through something about them on their profile is definitely a plus. If you stay consistent with this it will build a network around your profile and give you the same opportunity I had.

3. Stay consistent with updates, bulletins and comments on a daily basis. First, remember to not let the social media site you are working rule you. You must set aside the amount of time to work it each day and discipline yourself to not exceed that time, otherwise you will get sucked in and lose out on the rest of your To Do List for the day. Simply keep your friends updated through whatever the social media site has set up… an update, bulletin, post, etc. In addition, make sure to go through your friend’s updates and leave comments, support and build that connection with what they share. Remember the comments you leave others will see… so try to give support and replies that allow you to be known as a great friend to add. F.Y.I. DO NOT plaster your opportunity, product or service everywhere. You want to share information, resources and support to those around you. That will bring in many more quality connections. Yes, you can share what you do but my best piece of advice to doing this is combining true, valuable information on their journey… so for every promotion of your opportunity or product you need 5 to 10 updates that incorporate inspiration, help, value and knowledge. Then your connections will be more prone to what you are doing and sharing.

4. Join groups and build networks. Most social media sites have a group option where members are allowed to create a group and join groups. Creating a group and growing it can definitely gain you popularity on the social media site you are on… but if you do not feel comfortable with that yet just make sure you join groups and networks by simply participating in the posts and threads, adding group members as friends, giving advice and tips to those asking in posts, etc. This opens doors you never thought were possible. For example the social media website I have gained the most popularity on, I had built such a presence in the largest group in our niche I got offered ownership of this group after only a year and a half on the site. This group was over 70,000 members when I took ownership and now it is at over 86,000 members. So think of the opportunities that can come about from making your presence known within groups!

5. Last but not least… Connect your one profile back to your other social media profiles online. This will allow someone to add you everywhere. If you have blog that is connected to your other social media sites that is definitely easy enough to add the blog link and information to your profiles, if you do not have a blog just yet… just ensure your social media websites are connected to each other. For example you have a facebook profile have the links to your twitter, youtube, etc. profiles. This way you build your social proof everywhere you are online.

As you can see social media is very powerful and something you should be very open to learning how to network and build on. I personally have gained most of my knowledge from a FREE Resource I definitely recommend! This resource gives you EVERYTHING you need to know about social media and how to successfully work them to your advantage…

My experience indicates that most people who've accumulated a great deal of wealth haven't had that as their goal at all. Wealth is only a by-product, not the original motivation.

Why Won’t Women Invest in Their Futures?

Marjorie Joseph wrote this and did such and excellent job that I wanted to share it!

Since starting my business, I speak to women on a daily basis. I come across many women who like the idea of starting their own businesses, but will not invest the small amount of money now, for financial freedom later.

Why do we spend countless dollars on cigarettes, shoe sales, dining out, nails, hair, etc, but won't invest $100 to our health and wealth? So, my questions are "what are holding these people back?" "What can be done to help each other realize that a small sacrifice now, may set our families up very nicely in the future (when I say future, I mean anytime from tomorrow and on). "How can we help each other to think ahead instead of the now? "How do you overcome the poor/middle class mentality of letting great financial opportunities pass them by time after time again because they don't have the money?" I believe to be rich you must think rich. The rich mentality is "I will find the money to take advantage of this opportunity that has knocked on my door".

Any great business starts with some sort of investment. Whether its starting a franchise with thousands or millions in investment or starting a newspaper stand.
So I started brainstorming...

• Fear (are you starting to see a common theme here?)
• Possibly fear of failing and loosing money
• Possibly fear of succeeding
• Fear of not having a "regular" paycheck

Possibly failing and loosing money- I've heard countless times, "well when you become a millionaire then I'll join". If we are always waiting for someone else to make it to the top, we will just watch our lives pass by. How one person runs their business is not how you'll run yours. The places we want our "vehicle" to take us will be different for each person, therefore, determining how successful we will be in our businesses. People are easily influenced by others and what they tell them. I couldn't imagine waiting for someone else to be successful before I do something about my situation. Do you think Donald Trump thought that way?

Fear of succeeding- This is a difficult one for me, because I can't understand it. Although, I know many people, women especially encounter this problem. So I did a little research to better understand. It seems that many people fear success because it tests their limits and makes them vulnerable to new situations. For most people success involves change. Change from your current circumstances. It can also be intimidating. With success may come greater challenges and responsibilities. Lastly, people may fear success because they don't know if they can live up to their achievements. They don’t think they’re good enough or smart enough. They're afraid they don't have what it takes to rise to the challenge, and they don't know if they can sustain their success. AMAZING RIGHT? I totally get it now!

Fear of not having a "regular" paycheck- This was my problem! For me to handle this fear, because I'm raising my hand, I started my business while having my full time job. I had to see for myself if I could make this work and how I'd make it work. It actually pushed me to work harder, because the thought of being at home doing my own thing was too sweet. So, yes it is possible to start your business while working your full time job, until you’re comfortable enough to fully take the leap!

Ladies, if you do not currently have a business and you’re debating with yourself if you should. I urge you to at least start with knowledge. Knowledge is empowerment. You deserve it and so does your family.
